Pūkeko Blue!
Chief Swamp Hen | Bettina Anderson
I started life as a hydrogeologist and my early career was devoted to sploshing about in swampy Ōtautahi waters. A summer spent on a research project in Ōruapaeroa | Travis Wetland saw me get to know its feathered swamp mafia—crazy critters that I grew to love.
I soon traded waterways for my other love - word-weaving.
Two little words (Pūkeko blue) inspired my logo. Two, well-crafted words, that convey the same message that sixteen 'geek-speak' words do: the iridescent cerulean hue depicted in the plumage of the antipodean wetland rail species: Porphyrio melanotus. Pūkeko Blue on Insta |
